Cute-1.7 + APD II Magnetic Test

We conducted a magnetic test for Cute-1.7 + APD II in 5, 8/Dec/2006 at Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS) with the support of Dr.Sakai (ISAS) and Dr.Shirasawa(Tokai Univ.)

  1. 1. Objective of magnetic test One of missions in Cute-1.7 + APD II is attitude control experiment with three magnetic torquers.
So the magnetic sensor for geomagnetic field measurement and coils as magnetic torquers is loaded.
For the magnetic sensor, in order to measure accurate geomagnetic field on orbit, offset measurement at the ground is necessary.
And for coils it is necessary to survey the magnetic dipole which is really output.
Also residual magnetic field of Cute-1.7 + APD II should be measured accurately.

    12/5
・Remaining behind magnetic field measurement of satellite
・Magnetic field measurement of satellite (residual magnetic field + electric current magnetic field)
・Measurement of output magnetic dipole of coil
・Offset (bias) measurement (at the time of satellite installation) of magnetometric sensor
・Remaining behind magnetic field measurement of equipment as a single unit
    12/8
・Furthermore disassembling the antenna part finely, individually remaining behind magnetic field measurement
  2. Test facility
We borrowed the magnetic sealed room and the rotary stand.
Thanks to all parties concerned for kind support.
