Structure Role

The purpose of structure is to prevent inner instruments from breaking down under these conditions, such as launch vibration, temperature change under vacuum, space radiation and so on.

Constraint Condition

Maximum mass of Cute-1.7 + APD II including its separation system has to be up to 5kg under agreement.

Overview and Characteristic

The size of Cute-1.7 + APD II is about 220 [mm] * 180 [mm] * 115 [mm] and its mass is 3.0 [kg]. Its height is 50% larger than Cute-1.7 + APD to expand the solar cell area. Cute-1.7 + APD had a power shortage trouble.
Inner circuit boards are attached to mother board by connector to reduce electric wires. This helps us to assemble structure at short times.
Structure is almost made of aluminum. Satellite legs, black part in the figure, which are an attach part to separation system are surface-engineered for smooth separation.

Position of Inner Instruments

Batteries are located at the center of the satellite. Antennas are streamline wires made of steel and deploy in orbit. Location of the other instruments is shown in the following figure.
